Privacy Policy
Flick is designed to control your own television. It is built to need no account, no servers, and no data collection.
What Flick does NOT do
- It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer or any third party.
- It contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- It does not require an account or sign-in.
- Nothing you type or say is sent to us or to any server we control.
Data that stays on your device
To work as a remote, Flick keeps the following only on your device (and, where applicable, in the system keychain / app group shared with the home-screen widget):
- Paired TVs — the name, local network address, and a pairing certificate for each TV you connect to, so the app can reconnect without re-pairing.
This information never leaves your device.
Local network access
Flick uses your local network to discover and connect to TVs on the same Wi-Fi (via mDNS and a direct, encrypted connection to the TV). Communication is only between your phone and your TV.
Microphone
When you use voice search, Flick records audio only while you hold the voice button and streams it directly to your TV for on-TV voice search. The audio is not stored and is never sent to the developer.
Children's privacy
Flick collects no data and is suitable for all ages.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
